Children First Clubs (“CFC”) aim to provide a premium quality service and comprehensive solution to the childcare issue, targeting children in the age range 5-16 years old. The children’s leisure market within the UK is currently very underdeveloped and fragmented, yet the level of interest and concerns, as shown in the recent focus on obesity, could not be more acute. CFC believes it has the opportunity to establish itself as the premium brand in this potentially very lucrative, but embryonic market.
This will be achieved through creating leading edge, purpose built health club centres specifically for children. The combination of innovative building design and specialist programmes covering Sports, Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Education, Learning and Health & Fitness will provide a unique, secure yet stimulating and fun environment for children under one roof. Swimming will only be added on the basis of the site agreement with landlords. Each fully zoned centre will be purpose built, covering some 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft, either single or double storey.
The centres can be standalone, integrated within a retail destination or adjacent to an adult health club or school site. Whilst the details incorporated within the full Business Plan primarily focus on the two initial centres, other sites, opportunities and potential partners have already been identified for the future rollout. The offering could also include a 5,000 sq ft adult budget gym space so as to compliment the child offering.
Children First Clubs is currently being rebranded for a Q3 2021 launch with 3 sites secured in Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham. Non Executives include Mike Hayhoe at MVH Property, Beth McDonald at Stonegate and Phil Drury at the FD Centre.
Friends of Children First Clubs include David Minton, Steve Dick, Chris Sharman, Chris Ward and Dan Newall
